What We Do
Our goal is simple: help athletes recover safely, monitor symptoms closely, and return to activity only when it is appropriate.
We also provide clear documentation for parents, schools, and coaches throughout the process.
We help manage concussion recovery by providing:
-
Concussion symptom evaluation and tracking
-
Documentation for parents, schools, and coaches
-
Stepwise return-to-play progression
-
Written status updates and clearance documentation
-
Communication with approved school and athletic staff when consent is given
Our concussion documentation includes symptom score tracking, parent acknowledgment, consent to communicate with school personnel, stepwise progress tracking, and return-to-play clearance.
Athlete Concussion Care That Follows a Clear Process
Return-to-play decisions should never be rushed.

An athlete may return to competition only after they are free of concussion signs and symptoms at rest and with exercise, have completed a symptom-free progressive exercise process, and are cleared by a qualified healthcare professional.
That means we do not just ask, “Do you feel better?”
We follow a documented progression that helps make sure the athlete is truly ready for the next step.

Step-Wise Return-To-Play Protocol
Athletes must be symptom-free at rest and during activity before returning to play. We follow a structured progression to ensure a safe and appropriate return.

Step 1
Symptom Limited Activity or No activity: Daily activities that do not
provoke symptoms and/or rest until all symptoms have resolved.
Step 2
Light activity: such as walking or stationary cycling, no weight/resistance
training. Duration: 20 Minutes. Exertion Level: 30-40% of maximum.
Step 3
Sport specific activity: running/sprinting, skating, agility drills. No head
contact. Durations: 30 Minutes. Exertion Level: 40-60% of maximum.
Step 4
Non-contact activity: return to modified sport/activity/practice. Non-
contact drills, weight training. No head contact. Duration: 60 Minutes.
Exertion Level: 60-80% of maximum.
Step 5
Full contact activity: return to full participation after medical clearance.
Duration: Full Practice. Exertion Level: Full Practice.
Step 6
Game play: Cleared to return to play with no restrictions.

*Each step requires at least 24 hours. If symptoms return, the athlete must stop and go back to the previous step*
